No manners, trainers, and hookworms

Lincoln
Mommy says Lincoln and I have no manners and understand no boundaries. Between you and me, I have no idea what she is talking about. She would like to point out that Lincoln is sitting on a kitchen chair at the kitchen table. I don't see what the big deal is but it makes Mommy say things like, "get down" or "no" all the time.

Minnie
She would also like to point out how in this picture, I'm standing, proudly, on the back of the couch. Instead of rewarding me for huffing, puffing and jumping repeatedly until I made it, I get a "get down" or "no" just like Lincoln. Seriously, doesn't she understand how nonathletic pugs are? That took mad skillz to get up on the back of that couch! Someone should award me a medal or at least acknowledge my awesomeness.

Instead of an award, Mommy started calling around for a dog trainer. First of all, I'm not just a dog. Second of all, really?! Luckily, the first two trainers she called could only use the "dog whisperer" magic during the day and Mommy works. Darn it...hehe. Mommy also got her feelings hurt because the one trainer called her a "weak" pack leader and told her that Lincoln and I were disappointed in her for not being tougher. I assured her that Lincoln and I were not disappointed because she fails at getting us off the back of the couch or kitchen chairs...

On an unrelated (but important) note that has nothing to do with how awesome I am, Lincoln is sick. Again. However, this time I took matters into my own hands and went with him to the vet. I had to make sure the vet was going to fix him and its always nice to be loved on by new people. Lincoln would like me to add that unlike me, he does not like, love or enjoy the vet's office. Whatever, the vet gives you treats, loves on you and makes sure to point out how adorable you are. The vet rocks!

Continuing on with Lincoln's health, once again his"inhalant" allergies are causing him to bite himself until he gives himself open sores. The vet says he just has to hold it together until winter or a very cold fall day finally kills all those things causing him to scratch.

While he finally kicked those nasty whip worms to the curb from his last vet visit, now he has a new visitor: hookworms. Hookworms sound as disgusting as Google promised me that they were. If you don't know what they are, I dare you to Google them. Disgusting!

Lincoln gets all kinds of extra treats again this week to take more medicine. How come I'm never sick?! Being sick obviously equals extra treats and attention...

  1. Poor Lincoln! and poor Mack, too. Seems they are both experiencing itchy problems that invole the vet. As for a "trainer", I agree with you, why do you guys need one? The back of the couch is the best place to take a nap or look out the window to bark at what ever happens to go by!!!!!! Good luck at convincing your mom you two don't need one. Hu-mom would not look up any kind of worm on Google.

  7. We should totally do a pugkini calendar to raise money, like all those naked ladies in England did. We could make a ton of money for pug rescues.

The itchies are so horrible. So many of us pugs have them. But worms, ew. Poor Lincoln. Hope he feels better soon.

  8. Okays. This is the 3rd time we have tried to post and hopefully this one goes through without error. We think Pugs are People, too at are house...so what's wrong with you sitting on chairs and couches? Secondly, regarding Lincoln's itchies...talk to your vet about VARL antigen treatment. Toby was on it and it is well worth the cost of $200 and it lasts anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. Lincoln basically gives a blood sample and the vet sends it off to this California based company so that they develop a vial of injectables specifically to Lincoln's itchies. Toby had to go to the vet a lot in the beginning just to make sure there were no adverse reactions. He has been on it for around 3 years and we give the injections at home about 1 time per month and it is well worth the price and Toby says it is well worth the small pain...just add treats.

    Allergies are Annoying!!! Grrr...
    Hookworms??? So sorry :o(
Ask your Mommy to Google Sentinel. This is what we get once a month as heartworm prevention and also protects us from all kinds of parasites, hookworms included!

Now, as far as furniture hoping, I have on question: Whose house is it in the first place?
To this day, Humans do not get it that THEY live with us, not the other way around...
At my house, guests have to ask permission to sit on OUR couches. Keep up the good work!

    Smooches,
    Neeko :o)
