Barking up a storm

You wanna know why we are soooooo tired?
Because it's Spring.
Spring in Kentucky this year has equaled constant storms.
Storms, meaning rain, lightening, hail and even tornadoes.
That's not even the worst part.
No one knew this but Lincoln doesn't enjoy a good ole' storm.
In fact, they make him anxious.
So anxious that he barks every single time it thunders.
Which causes me to bark.

Which keeps us up at night.
Which keeps Mom up at night.
And Grandma when we stay with her.
So if someone could kindly explain to Lincoln
that thunder does not equal end of the world,
that would be great.

Because I'm especially tired from barking all night to keep up with Lincoln's barking.
Mom says if we keep barking we have to find new homes.
Psh, I'm adorable, that shouldn't be too hard.
I just don't want to have to pack that closet full of clothes.
And I kind of enjoy cuddling with my Mom at night.

Muah,

Minnie Moo

  1. Hi Minnie Moo (and Lincoln too),
Nice to meet you! I live near St. Louis so we've had our share of storms this spring. I used to be nervious of of the thunder and lightening so I can relate to Lincoln. My mom says that the only good thing to come out of my hearing and eyesight troubles is that now they don't bother me. Sorry I don't have any good advice.
    Love,

  2. Poor Lincoln. And poor you. I have heard about all the storms. Stay inside where it is warm and dry.

  3. Hi Minnie Moo! I am so sorry those storms are scaring Lincoln so much. Has your momma ever seen one of these?

I have known a few people who have had great success with them.

    Hope those storms leave soon!

  5. Poor Lincoln, bless his heart. I do wonder if the thunder shirt would help at all.. We seem to have an issue with the dishwasher, and American Idol. Go figure.

  6. Minnie I feel for ya...see Tuni hates storms too. She would barks at the thunder when we lived in Virginia but now in Washing-machine state there is no barking or thunder. Maybe you two cuties need to move here and get a full nights sleep.

  8. We concur with the thunder shirt recommendation. A few of our Twitter friends wear them and while it may not completely relax him, it may make him less anxious. Your mom could also try a really tight shirt, that kept us from scratching and chewing ourselves bloody, even though the parts we liked to chew weren't covered. Heck, your mom could even try to wrap an Ace bandage around him, neck to haunches. That would be less expensive.

  9. We have a boxer from a puppy mill, she used to be a mama, that freaks out at all loud noises. She can hear a storm miles away and just starts pacing and pacing. Sometimes she hides in the bathroom. Mom has tried all kinds of things, even drugs but the thunder shirt does seem to settle her down somewhat. We also use rescue remedy which can be found in most health food stores.
