Theme Song Tuesday

"Lincoln's got a new coat! Lincoln's got a new coat!" (Does anyone remember the Elmo's got new shoes song?!)

As you can tell, he's pretty excited about it. Don't let that puggy mug convince you otherwise. Lincoln just has a very stoic expression 99.9% of the time and the other he gives sad eyes.

As soon as Mom put the coat on him and the hood up, he sat there, proudly for his picture. Hehe, Lincoln is a funny boy dog.

Speaking of the Elmo song, Mom sings us all kinds of made up song and inserts our names into them. Mom can't sing very well, but I always amuse her and give her the pug head tilt. Lincoln and I both get the Scooby Doo theme song...

Minnie-Minnie-Moo, Where Are You?
We got some work to do now.
Minnie-Minnie-Moo, Where Are You?
We need some help from you now.

Or she changes it to "Linky Loo." Our uncle Travis, sings "Minnie and the Jets" to me sometimes too. It's pretty cool to have your own theme song. Does anyone else have a theme song?

Mule Up

So the weather has been pretty cold. Mom just says that it was Fall is supposed to feel like, but I have a tendency to "mule" up. When I "mule up" I plant all 13 pounds of pug on the sidewalk and put my head down, refusing to budge. If you try to drag me, I will either escape my harness or let you literally drag me on my back. This frustrates Mom a whole lot, so she usually just picks me up. Then I'm a real princess who gets carried around.

However, Grandma bought Lincoln and I, scarves. I'm not sure what a scarf is but it sure does keep my pudgy neck warm.

Lincoln always stands so proud whenever Mom dresses him up. Hehe, silly pug brother.

Hopefully, these scarves keep me walking through the winter.

Thankful Tuesday - Lincoln style

(Not being a cry baby pug)

It's me, Lincoln. Since it's Tuesday. And Minnie made me sound like a cry baby yesterday. And it's Thanksgiving week...

I wanted to point out something I am thankful for: Rubs. Massages. Scratches.

Awww, that's the spot...keep it up Dad.

This is pure bliss.

I almost forget to mention, I'm thankful for Dads too. Dad's that hand out rubs, massages, and scratches even when his favorite college basketball team is playing on T.V.

How much is that doggy in the windw?

Who is that puggy in the window?

That's Lincoln, of course!

Lincoln does not like to be separated from Mom. He has what the vet calls, "separation anxiety." Everyday when Mom leaves us to go to work, Lincoln gets up in the window and watches until she returns. I've tried explaining that Mom always comes back, but Lincoln says that you can never be so sure. Sigh. Hopefully, Lincoln eventually forgets his old life and realizes forever means someone always comes back for you.

Flashback Friday

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face. ~Ben Williams

Mom might have a degree in psychology, but I'm the one around here that really cheers everyone up.

Happy Friday :)

Grandma Daycare

(At Grandma's Daycare)

Grandma, if she's in town and not working, will sometimes open up the "Grandma Daycare." This means, instead of sleeping the day away at home while Mom's working, we get to go to Grandma's house.

Here are a couple of things that Grandma does better than Mom:

-Gives me a treat for peeing on a pee pad
-Gives me a treat for sitting
-Gives me a treat for looking adorable
-Gives me a treat for looking hungry

(Me with pee pad, waiting on a treat)

So yeah, it's pretty much about the treats at Grandma. However, there are a couple of other things. Sometimes she has cushions in the house if it's raining outside. These cushions create the most perfect indoor pug jungle gym especially when they are piled on top of one another. The best part about this is that Grandmas don't yell like Moms when you climb all over the furniture. Aren't Grandmas the best?!

As a final note, we would like to add that everyone should get in on this pet Christmas/Holiday gift exchange! Check it out!

Tattle Tale

Lincoln is a tattle tale and a liar. There I said it and as of right now I mean it. Here's the story:
Mom got out of the shower this morning and no little puggies were waiting on her. She yelled and yelled for us and we didn't come running like usual. Finally, she found us in the pantry, with the door shut. Now here is where the story gets fuzzy. Initially, it was Lincoln with his head in a bag of chips. However, as soon as Lincoln heard Mom, he did a turn about and acted his normal innocent self.

Seizing this opportunity while Mom yelled and got the camera out, I stuck my head in the bag of chips.

I would just like to point out, that I'm not tall enough to reach the bag of chips by myself.

Something Under the Couch

I think there is something under here...

Maybe if I scratch furiously, it will just pop out...

Come on!

Yep, it's still under there

Seriously, Mom, there's something under the couch, will you get it already?! And stop taking my picture?

Am I a Gremlin?

Yesterday, I discussed the ways in which I was not a dog but a pug. A pug child to be correct. I also discussed how Lincoln is called a "boy in a pug suit." Well sometimes Mom and Dad call me a Gremlin. This is as ridiculous as Lincoln stuffing a little boy in his body. To make my case, I have provided you with a picture of a Gremlin and a puppy picture of me (a little flashback Friday moment).

Here is a Gremlin:

Here is me:

Please, I'm much cuter. While I am a mischievous little monster sometimes (please get over the textbook, Mom), I can be exposed to light, eat after midnight and I love water. So Mom, Lincoln is not a little boy in a pug suit and I'm not a Gremlin. But I am a really cute puppy. Just saying.

A boy in a pug suit

Lincoln

Right after we started fostering Lincoln, Mom kept commenting on his eyes. She said he has the saddest eyes. Eyes that tell a story of past troubles.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

Anyway, everyone is always commenting on Lincoln's eyes. His "human looking eyes". I, proudly, have pug eyes. Bulging orbs that I can make almost pop out of my head when I either want something or am playing bitey face. Lincoln's eyes never bulge, they just blink and look sad.

Mom says it almost seems like he has "human eyes." Once again, WHAT?! Lincoln is clearly a dog. I'm a pug but Lincoln is definitely a dog. I am not a dog. When we first got him, I admit, I started to question whether I was a dog because of the obvious similarities between us. But then I remembered I'm a precious, princess pug child. I'm practically human, I dare you to prove otherwise. But I digress, Lincoln is a dog.

Lately though, Mom has been saying that it seems Lincoln is a boy in a pug suit. Excuse me? First of all, how did they squeeze a little boy into Lincoln? I admit, he's a mutant pug with his huge paws and almost muzzle, but there's a human boy stuck in Lincoln!? And why is this little boy in a pug suit? And what has this boy done with my brother?

I have so many questions. Does anyone understand how Lincoln has a boy inside of him? Did Lincoln eat a little boy?!

Lincoln and Me (kind of, I'm trying to butt in on the picture)

A Comfortable Spot

Sometimes when I'm tired, it's hard to find the most comfortable spot to lay my puggy head down.

Sometimes the most comfortable spot is on top of Lincoln.

Lincoln doesn't seem to care.

I think everyone needs a Lincoln to cuddle with...

P.S. Happy Birthday Dad :)

Homework Helper

Ummmmm...remember yesterday when I talked about how Mom had a lot of homework and I was supposed to be chewing on my bully stick? Well, turns out psychology textbooks are even better than bully sticks. Mom says she only took pictures so she finally had proof that the dog really did eat her homework. Hello, I'm a pug, not a dog!

Sniffing it out, yep, smells pretty good.

Tastes even better...

Hmmm, I will just pretend to be looking at it for a second...

Sooooo much better than a bully stick...

Seriously, Lincoln you have to try this...

I have no idea how that happened....

Yep, I'm trouble!

Sunday Bribes

On any given Sunday, Mom has to do homework for her PhD. It's pretty boring stuff to Lincoln and I. It is also pretty hard to sit still and let Mom do her homework. Hello, if she's home, shouldn't she be petting, adoring and playing with us?! This entails in many failed or successful attempts to jump in her lap, step on her computer, chew on her books or distract her in general from completing homework in a timely manner.

Thus, much to the happiness of Lincoln and I, we get bribed...with bully sticks. Which Mom says is like "pug crack." Case in point:

Flashback Friday- Special Edition

Since it's Friday and Lincoln got to show some of his tricks yesterday (the snarl and sit)....and since it's always entertaining to watch a pug video and because my mom has finally relented to everyone seeing her in a bikini and it's a flashback Friday moment....I've posted a video of me swimming for the first time along with some pictures. This was taken earlier this year when I went to my grandparent's house in Florida. Enjoy!

First, I had to practice swimming in the hot tub to make sure pugs could really swim

I'm not sure about this guys...

Thank goodness there is a handle on the back, this is like riding a bike for the first time

Getting the hang of things...

Awww, love my mommy

Easy as eating

Haha, laugh all you want, of course my paws are still swimming, I have no idea if you're going to drop me in the water again!

I think I might join the Olympic swimming team...

You can tell we are related, we both close one eye in pictures...hehe
Note, I am wearing a life jacket. When the life jacket is taken off, I can still swim but I seem to sink at the same time. I'm going again in December-January, I can't wait to show off for Lincoln. Hopefully, he will enjoy swimming too.

As a small disclaimer, my mom would like to apologize for the close of video taping of her in bathing suit and her high pitched "Minnie Mouse" (no irony there) voice :)
video

And that is why my trick trumps Lincoln's snarl and sit!
